Service Description

In these Sunday morning classes, children will explore the theme of identity through different mediums each week. Week 1: What Makes You Unique? – Collage We’ll start with a fun group discussion about what makes each of us unique - our favourite things, interests, and values. Students will then dive into magazines, picking out images, colours, and words that represent their personalities. Week 2: Self-Portraits – Acrylic Painting Looking closely at themselves in mirrors, students will learn the basics of self-portraiture. I’ll guide them through observing facial features, shapes, and proportions, then show them how to mix acrylic colours to capture their skin tone, expression, and personality. Week 3: Cultural Heritage and Identity – Mixed Media We’ll start by discussing what makes each family unique, from traditions to favorite foods and family stories. Students will then create a piece that captures their heritage, combining colours and symbols meaningful to their background. Week 4: Collaborative Creature Creation – Imaginary Animals Students will create a fun, surprising piece by collaborating in a game-like activity. Each person will draw a section of a creature - head, torso, legs, and feet—then fold the paper and pass it along so no one sees what the others have drawn until the end. Week 5: Emotions and Colour – Oil Pastels on Black Paper We’ll start with a discussion on how colours and shapes can express different emotions. Using black paper for added contrast, students will pick an emotion and create an abstract piece using oil pastels. Week 6: Hobbies and Interests – 3D Sculpture We’ll explore how our hobbies and interests play a big part in shaping who we are. Us-ing cardboard, paint, and found objects, students will create a small 3D sculpture representing something they love to do Week 7: Future Aspirations – Dream Painting We’ll discuss what it means to dream big and imagine the future. Using acrylic paints, students will create a portrait or scene representing who they hope to become or something they want to achieve. They can include symbolic colours or items that capture their goals. Week 8: Identity Flags We’ll conclude the course by creating a personal flag that represents each student’s unique identity. We’ll discuss how flags use colours and symbols to represent people or ideas. I am an Italian artist with a rich background in traditional art and sculpture, having studied extensively in Italy & Edinburgh
