Service Description
In this course designed specifically for students aged 14-18, participants will have opportunities to learn digital art and human anatomy sketching according to models photographs. Through hands-on instruction and creative exercises, students will learn how to use procreate’s tools to bring their imaginative characters to life. Workshop Highlights: • Digital Sketching Techniques: Learn essential skills such as brush selection, layering, and color application to create vibrant and polished artwork. • Character Design Fundamentals: Explore life drawing principles, focusing on anatomy, proportions, and facial expressions to develop well-rounded characters. • Character Interactions: Developing the dynamics of character interactions, discovering how to illustrate relationships and emotions through body language and positioning. This class will help students to gain confidence in using procreate, enhancing their digital art skills for future projects. As well as strengthening their drawing skills on fundamental drawing skill on human anatomy and perspectives. Week1: Getting familiar with basic app layout & body figure sketching Week2: The selection tool - body figure sketching Week3: Layers & colour drop - body figure sketching Week4: Layers visual effects - body future sketching Week5: Colour adjustment Week6: Drawing guide - how to adjust perspective tool, understanding space & environment Week7: Mask tool, Clipping mask & Alpha lock tool Week8: Body figure sketching with complex perspective background & how to export image Materials: your own iPad (Essential: Download Procreate app from Apple app store before the class) Shuning has been a big fan of Japanese animes since childhood, her favorite's are Detective Conan and Ghibili studio work. She has also always admired the artistry and design found in games and animation. She is dedicated to incorporating these painting techniques into her own work- Utilizing constracting colour and slightly dramatic light and shadow to vividly capture the atmosphere of every scene within each story, bringing people an immersion of emotion. Shuning loves environmental painting and character design. usually she prefer to paint digitally on Procreate and Photoshop. But she also she paints traditionally with gouache and acrylic markers which are her favourite painting tools.

Cancellation Policy
We will provide a 50% refund if you give written advance notice up to 30 days before the course start date. 0% refund 30 days before a course starts. Please note there is an administration fee of £5 payable in respect of such refunds to cover payment processing fees. You will need to inform a member of administration staff in writing by emailing EDS at info@edinburghdrawingschool.co.uk. Additionally, if you withdraw for any reason after the course has started you will not be entitled to a refund. We are a small business and we depend on every booking to ensure that classes can go ahead. If a tutor has to withdraw from teaching the scheduled course for any reason (medical/personal/professional) before the start of a scheduled course, during a scheduled course, if the course is 8 weeks long or scheduled as x3 terms of 8 weeks long each, The Edinburgh Drawing School will find a replacement tutor for the course designed by that tutor for The Edinburgh Drawing School. The course content will be the same as the originally booked course. A student will not be entitled to a refund should the school have no option but to find a replacement tutor. If a tutor leaves and starts work elsewhere, and a student prefers to take classes with them personally at the tutor's new workplace, that is at the discretion of the student and no refund is entitled to them or will be given. If a student is unable to attend a class due to medical/personal/professional reasons, then EDS must be informed immediately so that the tutor can be notified. If you are missing a class because you suspect that you have developed Covid-19, please let us know immediately so that we can alert fellow student and tutors. Non-attendance of classes/workshops does not automatically mean a refund, however EDS will assess the circumstance
