Service Description

A 15% discount per Teens garden session will be applied if more than one session is booked. Join our Teens tutor Betsey Kilpatrick throughout July and August for double morning drawing and painting sessions. Working in watercolour, dry pastel and oil pastel, teens will have a different experience each time they join a session. The three hours will be time for students to slow down and really observe the flowers and trees around them and hopefully make some lovely botanical drawings and paintings, calmly by Duddingston Loch. The format of the morning will be as follows: 10am to 10.20am - Walk through the gardens to a chosen spot 10.30am - 11.30am - Draw and paint 11.30am - 12.00pm - Stop for a break, drink and snacks 12.00am - 1pm - Continue on first work of art or make a second There is a dry cover option at Dr Neil's Garden should there be any rain shower, but fingers crossed we'll be drawing and painting in sunny weather. Betsey has a lot of experience mentoring many different children in after school clubs and holiday organisations. She is a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, painting peaceful and also vibrant works where the brushwork is evident or muted. Betsey is an oberver of nature and uses organic forms to inform much of her own professional work. Materials List: Pencil eraser paper towel Dry pastel set Sketchbook
